Jaden's Ladder to hold "Children's Festival" Fundraiser

Domestic Violence Non-profit Urges Children to Help Children

RYE, NH – September 6, 2005 – Jaden's Ladder, a non-profit organization that assists survivors of domestic violence, announced today that they will be holding a "Children’s Festival" fundraiser on Saturday, October 1st, 2005 from 12:00pm-4:00pm at 239 Wallis Road in Rye, New Hampshire. Jaden's Ladder is dedicated to providing services that empower survivors to break the cycle of domestic violence, become active members of the community and reach new personal milestones.

The “Children’s Festival” will feature entertainment from the popular interactive musical performer for kids, “Wayne from Maine” (www.waynefrommaine.com). Wayne has been performing for children for eleven years and is a highlight of the “Little Ducklings Parade” in Boston. The festival will offer many activities for children including a petting zoo with pony rides, a trackless train, giant slides, rock climbing walls and a dunk tank. 2 Fat Guyz Catering will be on hand to serve up some tasty BBQ. Initial sponsors for of this event include Dan Corollo/Direct Mortgage, Goody Two Shoes Children’s Clothing, G. Willikers! Toy Shop, Justin Nadeau, Keller Williams Realty, Laurie Barnes/Keller Williams Realty, Seaport Fish, Select Systems, The Bournival Group. The festival promises to be fun for children of all ages.

The "Children’s Festival" fundraiser is the first event that Jaden’s Ladder will hold that empowers children to help children. Children can be affected directly and indirectly by domestic violence. A child living in a domestic violence environment not only can suffer from direct abuse but can be hugely affected by any abuse that takes place in the home. With this event, Jaden’s Ladder hopes to raise the level of awareness about how domestic abuse impacts children. Jaden’s Ladder is dedicated to helping survivors as well as children of survivors reestablish their lives.

"We hope that the ‘Children’s Festival’ will provide kids with a fun way to get involved with our effort to help survivors of domestic violence overcome their challenges and embark on new beginnings," said Oneta Bobbett, Co-Founder and Program Director, Jaden's Ladder. "We look forward to a fun day for children of all ages and graciously thank our sponsors for their support of Jaden’s Ladder and the festival."
