Atlanta Braves' Andruw Jones and Nicole Jones to host benefit for Jaden's Ladder

Recording Artist Legend, Chaka Khan to Perform at Second Annual Benefit

Atlanta, GA – October 16, 2006 - Jaden’s Ladder, a non profit organization that assists survivors of domestic violence, today announced that Atlanta Braves’ Andruw Jones and his wife, Nicole, will host the Second Annual Jaden’s Ladder Benefit on Saturday, January 20, 2007 from 6:00pm-12:00am at the TWELVE Ballroom at Atlantic Station in Atlanta. Mr. and Mrs. Jones are “Jaden’s Ladder Ambassadors” and plan to host the event as part of their efforts to raise funds and awareness in support of Jaden’s Ladder. All proceeds from the event will benefit Jaden's Ladder. Jaden's Ladder is dedicated to providing services that empower survivors to break the cycle of domestic violence, become active members of the community and reach new personal milestones.

“In 2006, the benefit we hosted helped to raise the funds necessary for Jaden’s Ladder to open the Southeast Chapter,” said Andruw Jones of the Atlanta Braves. “Nicole and I recognize the importance of the services that Jaden’s Ladder provides to the community in Atlanta and we look forward to hosting the 2nd Annual Benefit in January.” This year the benefit will feature a special live performance from multi Grammy Award winning recording artist Chaka Khan. Attendees will also enjoy a gourmet dinner as well as dancing and an opportunity to mingle with celebrities, athletes, and other special guests of honor. The event will additionally include a live charity auction including sports memorabilia, select wines, gift certificates and more. “Working with Jaden’s Ladder in the Atlanta community has really helped me understand the lives of domestic violence survivors,” said Nicole Jones. “Jaden’s Ladder not only helps to stop the violence but provides victims with the services and support they need to establish new lives that are healthy and self sufficient.”

“Since launching the Atlanta-based chapter of Jaden’s Ladder, we have been able to provide life-altering support to many families in the area,” said Oneta Bobbett, co-founder, Jaden’s Ladder. “In particular, we are especially excited about our new scholarship and personal development programs. With the help of Jaden’s Ladder, our families are going to summer camps, attending college, and starting new businesses. All of these achievements have been possible with generous support from the Jones’ and other local champions.”

A limited number of sponsorships and tickets are now available for the January 2007 event. Tickets are $350 per person.
